Robotics
Welcome to the wide and wonderful world of robotics.
There is such a large selection of options to start off with. If you are not yet ready to build everything from scratch.
The advantages of virtual memory abstraction and the ability to abstract hardware to their core functions. Make Raspberry Pi a desirable addition to the ingredients that make a great robotics project.
Raspberry Pi
For the Raspberry Pi the Alphabot kit provides a wonderful range of hardware and software capabilities. That are already provided to get you off the ground.
They have included all the components required to build your first robot. All you need now is a Raspberry Pi and some batteries.
This kit is designed to use with Raspberry Pi (not included). It features rich common robot functions including line tracking, obstacle avoiding, Bluetooth/infrared/WiFi remote control, video monitoring, etc.
Thanks to the highly integrated modular design, it is fairly easy to assemble by a snap, no soldering, no wiring. After a few minutes spent on hardware assembling, you’re almost there. Use the open source demo codes.
Arduino Vs Raspberry Pi – Which One is Better for Robotics Projects?
The main difference between them is: Arduino is a microcontroller board, while Raspberry Pi is a microprocessor based mini computer (SBC). Raspberry Pi SBC has all features of a computer with a processor, memory, storage, graphics driver, connectors on the board. Raspberry Pi needs an Operating System to run.
Moreover to answer this question we would really need to compare the advantages of virtual memory abstraction and image processing capabilities of the Raspberry Pi with power consumption differences between the 2 options.
For those of you who would rather use a micro controller instead of a computer for your robot we also have the PikaBot
Endearingly known as the Pika-puppy amongst our team. This great little robot contains everything you may need, including an Arduino compatible controller and instructions.
Everyone loves mobile robots! With PikaBot, you get to learn electronics, microcontrollers, sensors, motors & coding, in addition to having fun!
Don’t worry! A booklet covering all the hands-on lessons you need to get started is included. During every step everything is explained clearly with the help of images. We make sure that the common issues when building and coding the Arduino mobile robot are properly addressed in this booklet. Besides, it comes with fun facts to feed the curious minds too.
