Talking Milk Jug Says Glug-Glug-Glug
Children can be a wonderful source of inspiration, especially when they start expressing themselves with full sentences and showing off their personalities. Franklinstein experienced this firsthand with his adorable toddler, who loves playing with her toy espresso machine, particularly the small milk carton that came with it. Inspired by her delight, Franklinstein decided to create a new milk jug that would make a “glug-glug” sound whenever it was tipped over, mimicking the noise he made that brought his daughter so much joy.
To keep the project straightforward, Franklinstein utilized a sound module with an SD card to store the audio and a tilt switch to trigger the sound when the jug is turned over. The build also includes a boost converter, a charging module, and a speaker. The components are housed in a 3D-printed enclosure, with a custom-designed internal skid to hold the electronics securely.
The result is an incredibly charming toy that Franklinstein’s daughter loves, adding a magical touch to her playtime. For those interested in recreating this delightful project, Franklinstein has provided instructions and a build video, making it accessible for other parents and makers to bring a similar bit of joy to their own children’s playrooms.
