A Beautiful Lamp-Inspired PC Case
Sometimes, you come across something so cool that you immediately imagine it in a completely different setting. That’s what happened with MXC Builds, who saw an impressive lamp created by karacreates and thought it would be even better transformed into a custom PC case.
The build showcases how combining different techniques can result in a unique final product. In this project, MXC Builds integrates 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC, sewing, soldering, and traditional woodworking to create a custom PC case that no single method could achieve on its own.
A significant portion of the project focuses on the CNC work, particularly for crafting the walnut base and power button enclosure. As is often the case in DIY builds, some challenges arise, such as the walnut base being too tall for the CNC machine’s z-calibration puck and bits to handle in a single pass. It’s always fascinating to see how makers like MXC Builds overcome these hurdles with creative problem-solving.
This project is a great example of blending various techniques to craft something truly innovative, highlighting the ingenuity that comes from combining different tools and skills.
