The Gustavsson Family has kicked off the holiday season with their jaw-dropping Raspberry Pi-powered Christmas light show. Covering their entire house and yard, the display features over 25,000 individually addressable RGB LEDs synchronized to music. Viewers can tune into an FM radio station to hear the accompanying songs, while lighted arches display the current song title, creating a festive drive-in-like experience. Their work, captured over years of dedication, is showcased on a YouTube playlist for everyone to enjoy.
The intricate setup includes custom light matrices, arches, a tree, and other LED-covered decorations. It’s driven by a Raspberry Pi 4B paired with Falcon 48V and F16V4 control boards, powered by 25 separate 12V power supplies and 6 additional 5V power supplies for the matrices. The synchronization magic happens through FPP, an open-source tool, with light sequences programmed using xLights software.
