The cyberdeck scene embodies a spirit of individuality and hands-on creativity, and DIY Tinkerer has truly showcased that with his custom cyberdeck build. His creation combines woodworking artistry with the powerful Raspberry Pi 4, specifically an 8 GB model, making for a functional, portable, and unique computing setup.
For power, he added a hefty 9000 mAh battery that’s charged through a power jack on the front, compatible with a wide range of DC voltages from 5 to 20 volts. The setup also features a multi-card memory reader and several USB 3 ports, providing ample connectivity for both storage and peripheral devices. Plus, there’s an integrated oscilloscope, which is a handy addition for on-the-go diagnostics and electronics work.
The custom housing, crafted from a rugged plastic case, not only makes the cyberdeck resilient but also stylish, with wood accents lending a warm, handcrafted feel. The video captures the evolution of the project, highlighting the design and functionality improvements from DIY Tinkerer’s earlier builds.
