Watch a Raspberry Pi robot recreate your pixel art with wooden blocks
This Raspberry Pi project is a fun, inefficient, and highly creative way to display pixel art. Created by Ben Holmen, “Kilopixel” is a robot that uses a grid of 1,000 wooden blocks, each with a black and white side, to recreate user-submitted pixel art. The robot’s arm meticulously flips each block one by one to form the desired image, with a live feed available on the kilopx.com website so you can watch the art come to life.
CNC Components for your own kilopixel:
- Extrusion/brackets
- Nema 17 SM24240 Two-Phase Stepper Motor
- 2M GT2 20 Teeth Belt with Aluminium Timing Pulleys
- CNC Kit
