3D Print Your Desk Setup: Practical Prints to Upgrade Your Workspace
Did you know the first working 3D printer was created in 1983 by Chuck Hull, who also coined the term stereolithography (SLA)—a process still widely used today in high-resolution resin printing! Are you on the fence about getting a 3D printer and trying to think of reasons you would use it, or maybe your desk is getting cluttered a little more every day? Here are some ways you could use a 3D printer to upgrade your workspace! In this article, we’ll explore some easy, useful, and stylish 3D prints that you can use to help organize, declutter, and personalize your desk – whether you work from home, game, or just like to keep things neat!
1. Headphone Stands & Hangers

Headphones are some of the clunkier-sized desktop peripherals that don’t have a specific space to rest. Below, you can find some fantastic headphone stands and hooks, whether you need a clamp to the side of your desk or more stylized options, we’ve got you covered with these 4 stands!
Why it’s useful: Keeps headphones safe and off the surface.
Options: Desk-mounted, wall-mounted, or under-desk hangers.
2. Cable Management Clips & Sleeves

We know the stress of having to follow a cable from its output to its source and how cables that are too long tend to take up more than 30% of your desk space so make sure to grab some cable organizers while you’re at it.
Why it’s useful: Tame charging cords and monitor cables.
Examples: Snap-on cable clips, under-desk raceways, twist cable combs.
3. Controller & Device Stands

We’ve combined stands for general devices and controllers, like Xbox controllers and tablets, some of these options might be very stylized or have some slightly over-complicated designs but we think they’ll look perfect on any desk. We’re ending the device recommendations off here with a mix of 2 sections with a phone stand that doubles as a stationery organizer.
For gamers: Dual controller stands, display holders for Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck
For productivity: Phone/tablet stands, smartwatch docks
4. Pen Holders & Organizer Trays

Finally to the main dish of the recommendations. The main culprit of desktop clutter is being stationary. Pens, pencils, notes, ( and USBs and SD cards if you aren’t using cloud software with your 3D Printer), we’ve got a little bit of every organizer, including a personal favourite modular design!
Why it’s cool: Customize compartments for your exact needs
Design Ideas: Minimalist pen cups, modular drawers, hex stack trays
5. Monitor Risers & Laptop Stands

These prints are a bit more for ergonomic design rather than desk organization. Recommendations range from incredibly simplistic to literal desk drawers as a monitor riser. Personally, we prefer either the Above desk Drawers or the Kuna laptop stand, as they either add more storage space for your desk or don’t take up space in general.
Ergonomics boost: Better viewing angle and extra storage underneath
Your desk doesn’t have to be boring or cluttered. With just a little filament and some creativity, your 3D printer can transform your workspace into something clean, custom, and uniquely you. Whether you’re aiming for function, flair, or both, there’s a 3D print for that.
